Seagate Launches Consumer-grade BarraCuda SSD


Seagate is a pretty familiar name in the world of storage device. The American data storage company, Seagate has launched a new low cost, consumer-grade SSD (Solid State Drive) that arrives on Amazon before Amazon’s Prime Day shopping event which is going to be held on July 16th and 17th. BarraCuda SSD is far from Seagate’s first Solid State Drive . BarraCuda SSD is a SATA drive, which is popular standard. The new SSD with capacities ranging from 250GB to 2TB.

The new consumer-grade SSD named as BarraCuda SSD, which is mainly aimed for home consumer who are looking to upgrade their PC or Laptop with high speed SSD. The new SSD starting at $75 ( nearly 5,150INR). The new BarraCuda SSD boasts maximum sequential read and write speeds of 540MB/s and 520MB/s respectively. The new SSD has a SATA of 6Gb/s manufactured in capacities of 250GB,500GB, 1TB and 2TB and comes with 5 year limited warranty.

However, we are not still unclear about what type of NAND chips or controller is used in BarraCuda SSD. According to some tech websites, the drive will feature of a 1.8M hour MTBF up to 1,092 TBW and up to 90K IOPS. Although these details are not confirmed by Seagate .
