OnePlus has now officially clarified why they remove notification LED from their new flagship model OnePlus 6T which was released on this year.
According to OnePlus, notification LED was removed because it was no longer needed. Users could simply lift up the OnePlus 6T or tap the display screen to view the notifications on the lock screen itself.
Apart from notification LED, the OnePlus 6T also removed some cool features like Wireless charging, an IP rating, Always-on-display, and an audio jack.
OnePlus held an AMA session, OnePlus CEO Carl Pei said when asked about the lack of IP certification, that the phone’s design did not account for edge cases, such as water resistance or performance in extreme weather conditions. However, the company doesn’t make any statement about the missing of 3.5mm headphone jack. The new Bullets variant has been found on the OnePlus website which costs at Rs 3,299.
When asked about the removal of always-on-display, the OnePlus official said they remove the feature due to the battery drain issue. This feature was present on the OnePlus 6 but it was removed later via software update.
