Users Can Control HP Printers by Voice Via Alexa and Google Assistant

Tech giant HP is smartening their printers by enabling them with voice command support . Hp will soon release voice-activated home printers. HP will allow theirs printer users to print just by saying the printer to “Print”.

The company also says that it will be the first printer which offer “voice command” via major smart speakers namely Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and Microsoft’s Cortana.

Integrating voice into the home printer is an undeniably useful application of the technology,” says Anneliese Olson,G.M and Global Head of HP home printing

Various smart platforms like Alexa will be able to make new capacities through HP printer skills. Skills will also offers elements of control over the printing process, such as allowing the user to specify the exact number required.

The move to connected or smart devices is not a new tend actually. It is been happening at CES for years.

Working with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Coratana is only the first step forward a fully voice responsive home office or business- Olson Added.

And the announcement raises so many important questions like Do we actually need voice-controlled printers?
